FU MANCHU To Record 'Theme' Song For 'West Coast Choppers' Movie
December 24, 2003FU MANCHU singer/guitarist Scott Hill has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"We just got the OK to go into the studio to record the 'theme' song to the new Jesse James 'West Coast Choppers' movie. They will also be using four FU MANCHU songs from 'California Crossing' and 'Saturn 3' from the live record. The new song that we are going to record is called 'I'm Gettin' Away (Away From It All)'. We are also going to record 6 or 7 five-second heavy riffs, 'stings' as the producer calls them, full guitars, bass and drums for different parts of the movie. 'West Coast Choppers' have been using our songs for years now in their shows, so we are looking forward to recording the theme song for the new movie. We are going into the studio January 5th and 6th.
"We hope to have a new record label nailed down in January. Then have a new full-length record out by summer 2004. Then tour - tour - tour.
"The new 'Something Beyond' CD is almost done. The CD will be out at the beginning of January. The vinyl will come out at the end of January. New shirts are being made for the new release as well."
Upcoming FU MANCHU shows:
Jan. 10 - San Diego, CA @ Casbah (flyer)
Jan. 29 – Hollywood, CA The Troubadour
